Singapore: A Meeting of Old and Modern

Singapore is a change of pace from the way I usually travel and my style of photography. Despite that, this city has plenty of eye candy! If you can bear the stifling heat during the day, there’s a lot of unique architectural creations to see. And after the sun sets, the lights make the city come alive and accentuate a cityscape that blends futuristic buildings with old edifices from Singapore’s historic past.

While most of the city’s design can feel a bit repetitive at times, I really enjoy spending time along the waterfront, where a lot of modern constructions range from impressive to weird, one of which is shaped like an oversized durian fruit. The famous Super Trees are striking creations as well, using artificial trees to accelerate the growth of the surrounding natural forest. It’s places like this that make Singapore a cool place to explore as a photographer, even if only just for a little while.
