Lahore: Hub of the Mughal Empire

One of Pakistan’s largest cities, Lahore is a contradiction. It is equal parts frustrating and magnetic, dirty and beautiful, noisy and alive, and so much more. The sheer noise of Lahore can feel inescapable at times. On top of that, the air quality is one of the worst in the world. And yet it’s also flush with stunning cultural and historical sites, and some of the best and cheapest food you’ll find anywhere. Not to mention that legendary Pakistani hospitality!

This gallery consists – for now – only of captures taken of the famed Badshahi Mosque, one of the world’s largest mosques and an exquisite example of Mughal design. Seeing the red brick facades of the Old City glowing at sunset is a one-of-a-kind experience, and I look forward to growing this gallery to include more of Lahore’s jewels and bustling streets.
